NCOA (NATIONAL CHANGE OF ADDRESS)

Keeping your customer mailing list up to date is important to any successful mailing campaign.  Use NCOA (National Change of Address) service with your list. This is a service offered through DataMark Mailing Services and the USPS. The NCOA database captures all changes of address (moves) for the entire US for the last 48 months. This helps keep track of the over 40 million Americans who change addresses annually.

The service also includes LACS (Locatable Address Conversion System) free of charge. LACS is a database of addresses that have been changed due to implementation of a 911 emergency system. Normally this change involves taking rural-style addresses and converting them to city-style addresses, or in re-numbering of existing city-style addresses.

The cost for larger lists runs about $100 for a 10,000 record file. The old information is returned with the new address (if any) or the reason for non-delivery (moved and left no forwarding address, or moved with an invalid new address, or moved out of country, etc.).
