POSTAGE RATES Postage rates vary depending on the type of mailing being used. The following charts show the discount rates per piece that can be applied to your mailing for first-class, standard, and nonprofit rates. For first-class mailings, a minimum of 500 pieces must be mailed to receive the presorted or automated discounts. For standard and non-profit mailings, a minimum of 200 pieces must be mailed to receive the discounts. The 'Mixed Automated' columns refer to a mailpiece that contains a barcode used to automate the mailing, which is printed using our postal software. This column shows the highest discounted postage rate for barcoded mailpieces and may qualify for an even lower rate based on the criteria of the database list being used after our software certifies the mailing. For example, the '5 Digit Automated' column refers to having a barcoded mailing that contains quantities of 150 or more pieces for a single 5-digit zipcode prefix area (41042, 45239, etc.). The 'Presorted' column refers to mailpieces that do not contain a barcode (ex. handwritten or prelabeled mailpieces) See the mailpiece qualifications section to view the qualifications of a mailpiece or refer to automated barcode criteria images to learn how to create automated mailpieces. First-Class Letter-Size and Postcard Mail
(1) Letters meeting any nonmachinable characteristics may be subject to a nonmachinable surcharge of $0.20 per piece. Refer to mailpiece qualifications under the category 'Physical Standards for Basic Letters- Nonmachinable Criteria' for more information. (2) The maximum weight for machinable letter preparation is 3.3 oz.
First-Class Flat-Size Mail
For each additional ounce up to 13 oz, add $0.17 postage for single, presorted, and automation rates.
Presorted Standard Letter-Size Mail
For pieces weighing more than 3.3 ounces, each piece is subject to both a per piece rate and a per pound rate. Multiply the number of pieces in the mailing by per piece rate. Multiply the number of pounds of the mailing by per pound rate. Add both totals.
Presorted Nonprofit Letter-Size Mail
For pieces weighing more than 3.3 ounces, each piece is subject to both a per piece rate and a per pound rate. Multiply the number of pieces in the mailing by per piece rate. Multiply the number of pounds of the mailing by per pound rate. Add both totals.
Presorted Standard Flat-Size Mail
For pieces weighing more than 3.3 ounces, each piece is subject to both a per piece rate and a per pound rate. Multiply the number of pieces in the mailing by per piece rate. Multiply the number of pounds of the mailing by per pound rate. Add both totals.
Presorted Nonprofit Flat-Size Mail
For pieces weighing more than 3.3 ounces, each piece is subject to both a per piece rate and a per pound rate. Multiply the number of pieces in the mailing by per piece rate. Multiply the number of pounds of the mailing by per pound rate. Add both totals. |
